Difference between soft seal gate valve and hard seal gate valve

view :

The opening and closing parts of the soft seal gate valve are the ram. The movement direction of the ram is perpendicular to the fluid direction. The gate valve can only be fully opened and closed, and cannot be adjusted or throttled. The gate has two sealing surfaces. The two sealing surfaces of the common mode gate valve form wedges, and the wedge angle varies with the valve parameters, usually 50. When the medium temperature is not high, it is 2 ° 52 '' '. Generally, gate valves are prone to water leakage and rust. Soft seal gate valve (elastic seat seal gate valve). The gate plate is made of cast iron lined with rubber, which overcomes the shortcomings of general gate valves, such as poor sealing, fatigue of elasticity, rust, etc.

The soft seal gate valve is a replacement of the traditional gate valve. It uses the gate plate made of elastic material and uses the micro deformation compensation effect produced by the elastic material to achieve a good sealing effect. Soft seal gate valve has the advantages of light switch, reliable sealing, good elastic memory and long service life. The gate plate of hard sealing face gate valve is cast iron or stainless steel, with small opening and closing resistance and no flow blocking, but poor sealing performance. The difference between soft seal gate valves is that the form of the gate sealing surface is different.

General requirements for soft seal gate valves

1. The specification and category of gate valve shall meet the requirements of pipeline design documents.

2. The model of gate valve shall indicate the national standard number requirements. If it is an enterprise standard, the relevant description of the model shall be indicated.

3. The working pressure of the gate valve is required to be ≥ the working pressure of the pipeline. On the premise of not affecting the price, the working pressure that the valve can withstand should be greater than the actual working pressure of the pipeline. Any side of the gate valve when it is closed should be able to withstand 1.1 times the working pressure of the valve without leakage; When the valve is open, the valve body shall be able to withstand twice the working pressure of the valve.
