What are the meanings of single acting and double acting in pneumatic ball valves

view :

Single action pneumatic ball valve: normally open type (normally open, ventilation closed, gas cut-off spring reset open); Pneumatic ball valve with dual function: ventilation open and ventilation closed. When the air source fails, it remains reset. The pneumatic ball valve is equipped with a pneumatic actuator. The execution speed of pneumatic actuators is relatively fast, with a fast switching speed of 0.05 seconds per time, so it is commonly referred to as pneumatic quick cut-off ball valves. Pneumatic ball valves are usually equipped with various accessories, such as solenoid valves, air source processing triplets, limit switches, positioners, control boxes, etc., to achieve local control and remote centralized control. The valve can be controlled in the control room, without the need to go to the site or high-altitude and dangerous areas for manual control, which greatly saves human resources, time, and safety.

The pneumatic ball valve can be tightly closed by rotating it 90 degrees with a pneumatic actuator and a small turning torque. The completely equal valve body cavity provides a small resistance and straight flow path for the medium. It is generally believed that ball valves are suitable for direct opening and closing use. The main characteristics of ball valves are compact body structure, easy operation and maintenance, suitable for general working media such as water, solvents, acids, and natural gas, and also suitable for harsh working conditions such as oxygen, hydrogen peroxide, methane, and ethylene. The valve body of a ball valve can be integral or modular.

Maintenance and limitations of pneumatic ball valves:

1. Scope: The manual is applicable to electric (or pneumatic) ball valves at flange connection ends.

2. Composition: It consists of an electric (or pneumatic) actuator and a ball valve body, connected by a bracket and a connecting shaft.

Usage restrictions

1) Temperature and pressure limitations

2) The nameplate shows the allowable operating pressure of the ball valve at both high and low operating temperatures.

3) Valve seats and seals made of PTFE or RTFE materials should have an operating temperature between 150 ° C and 200 ° C. The operating temperature of other types of valve seats and seals should be checked.

4) The nominal pressure rating (PN) of a low-temperature valve can indicate the maximum working pressure of the valve under normal temperature conditions. (For example, PN4.0 indicates a maximum working pressure of 40 Bar (4.0MPa) when operating at temperatures ranging from -290C to 380C).

5) Please refer to the corresponding manual for the precautions for electric or pneumatic actuators.
